Kozhikode: Incessant rain continues to lash out across various parts of the state on Thursday. 

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh alerts for the next five days. 

Red Alert

Yellow Alert

A high tide cautionary notice has been sounded on the Kerala coast (Vizhinjam to Kasaragod) till 11:30 pm on 07.07.2023. There is a possibility of tidal waves, with a  height of 3.5- 4.3 meters. The sea is likely to get rough with a speed of 55-65 cms per second, the Indian Centre for Marine Ecological Studies (INCOIS) warned. Fishermen and coastal dwellers have been instructed to remain vigilant.

As the sea level continues to rise in Ernakulam's Kannamaly, the coast-line residents picketed the road demanding assurances about the construction of a sea wall. Sub-collector reached the spot to hold discussions with the protestors, following which the picketers dispersed.
