Thiruvanananthapuram: BJP State Chief K Surendran has found himself in the middle of a controversy for allegedly breaking lockdown rules and travelling to the state capital. Surendran travelled from Kozhikode to Thiruvananthapuram even after the Prime minister instructed the public to remain wherever they are.
However, Surendran argued that he had sought the permission from the District Police Superintendant for travelling in his official vehicle.
Surendran was staying at his residence in Kozhikode for the past 12 days. But he reached Thiruvananthapuram the other day evening and conducted a press conference. He had to give an explanation after many people asked him how he reached Thiruvananthapuram.
BJP stated that he reached the state capital as he had official commitments and that he had told this to the central leadership of the party.
Surendran will remain at Thiruvnanthapuram until the lockdown is lifted in the country.
