Nilambur: Left MLA P.V. Anvar has reaffirmed his strong criticisms of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's political secretary, P. Sasi. Anvar's remarks were made in response to Vijayan's pointed criticisms of him regarding his allegations and public statements.

Earlier today, Chief Minister had dismissed the allegations raised by Anvar against his political secretary, stating that Sasi's work has been exemplary. Responding to this, Anvar opined that while the Chief Minister might have faith in P. Sasi, he himself does not share the same confidence. A

Addressing the media, Anvar pointed out that the Chief Minister's belief in Sasi's work is his own personal conviction, but he himself does not hold that view. "I do not have any faith in him, and I do not believe he is someone to be trusted," said Anvar. He also reminded everyone how P. Sasi was removed from his position as the political secretary during the Nayanar Ministry. "Sasi has not changed from that behaviour; in fact, he has only risen an inch higher," Anvar criticised. He clarified that he would not criticise Pinarayi Vijayan but emphasised that it is for the Chief Minister to evaluate this situation.

Anvar agreed with the Chief Minister's statement that Sasi is not in his position to act upon every complaint that Anvar or others submit. However, the MLA clarified that he did not approach Sasi with personal grievances. Anvar revealed that his issues with P. Sasi stemmed from the case involving journalist Shajan Skariah. He claimed that the situation leading to Shajan's bail was orchestrated by the ADGP and P. Sasi. Anvar questioned, "The Supreme Court had clearly stated during the bail that Shajan should not be involved in similar cases, but how many cases has he been part of since? Did the police report this to the court? What exactly was Sasi's role in all this? And for whose benefit is all this being orchestrated? That's where my differences with Sasi began."

Anvar did not deny Vijayan's statement that "Anvar's background aligns more with Congress than left". He acknowledged that his actions have not always aligned with the CPM's political style. "In several local issues, I have sent letters to the AKG Centre. Four or five times, I informed the party secretary and political secretary about these matters. It is true that I come from an old Congress background. Who was EMS? He was a KPCC secretary. How did EMS become a comrade?" Anvar questioned.

He firmly stated that even if it reaches a point where he is expelled, he would not turn against the party or the Chief Minister.
