PS Prasanth will continue as Travancore Devaswom Board President for another year, as the CPM decides to extend his tenure amid controversy over the Sabarimala gold case.

Thiruvananthapuram: PS Prasanth will continue as Travancore Devaswom Board President, with the CPM state secretariat deciding to extend his tenure for another year.
The decision comes as Prasanth’s current term is set to end on November 10. The move is viewed as a significant one, especially amid opposition demands for his resignation over the Sabarimala gold robbery case.
According to party sources, the government is preparing to issue an ordinance to formalise the extension. If approved and signed by the Governor, Prasanth will remain in office until June next year.
The CPM’s decision signals continued support for Prasanth at a politically sensitive time for the Travancore Devaswom Board.
