Ranni: Besides Piravom, candidate selection in Ranni too is moving towards disagreement. A faction of Kerala Congress (M) is of the opinion that they do not favour a candidate who keeps dilly dallying.

A meeting held in Thadiyoor on Friday forwarded a letter to the party leadership to change the candidate in Ranni. They do not want Pramod Narayanan and want a person from the locality to be made the candidate. A faction of party workers is of the opinion that if Pramod Narayanan contests then the LDF will be pushed to the 4th spot.

Pramod Narayanan is a person who has a track record of shifting loyalty in a short period of time.  Members of the Mani faction are apprehensive and feel that the candidate may not be seen in the party tomorrow and may change his loyalty.

Pramod Narayanan, who began his political career as a SFI man, joined Congress and functioned for a long time. From there, he joined Kerala Congress (M). The probable names given by the 12 mandalam committees do not mention the name of Pramod Narayanan. Hence it is learnt that he was picked only with the special interest of a few leaders. Others feel that anyone who is not familiar with the local people may not be accepted as their leader by the common people.
