Though she had tried earlier to abort the child, her efforts were unsuccessful. She admitted to gathering information on the internet to get rid of the child after delivery. She told police that the fear of having given birth to a child led her to commit the act.
The police have also registered the statement of the young dancer, following allegations from the mother of the child that she was subjected to sexual abuse. According to her statement, she had got in touch with the dancer through Instagram. While the dancer acknowledged knowing the woman, he maintained that he has no involvement in the tragic incident. Given the need for further clarity regarding the woman's statement, the police have refrained from further interrogation of the dancer.
The woman confessed to the police about the murder of her newborn baby, revealing chilling details. The baby was born around 5 am on Friday, and in a state of panic, she attempted to strangle the baby. To prevent any cries, she stuffed clothes into the infant's mouth. Meanwhile, the woman is currently receiving treatment at Ernakulam General Hospital.

Sreeja revealed that she had served as a maid in the house for around nine years before being dismissed without any reason two months ago. She said that the family members were generally reserved and did not interact freely. Sreeja also mentioned that they owe her one month's salary. She recalled being dismissed from work when the daughter returned from Bengaluru two months ago.
