Alappuzha: Police informed that the minor boy who raised provocative slogans during a Popular Front of India (PFI) march has been identified. The investigating officials said that the statement of the child will be recorded and further probe will be initiated to find out how he joined the rally.

A purported video of a boy chanting slogans allegedly against Hindu and Christian communities during ‘Save the Republic' rally conducted by PFI on May 21 went viral on social media. Soon, Kerala police registered a case over the issue.

Police arrested Ansar Najeeb, who walked in the rally by holding the child on his shoulders. However, during an interrogation, he revealed that he took the child on shoulders just out of curiosity and said that he did not know who the child was. PFI Alappuzha district president PA Navas was also booked in connection with the case.
