Thiruvananthapuram: The 11th Pay Commission will submit its report to the state government on Friday.
In the initial phase, the recommendations will be to revise the salary, benefits and pension of government staff. Upto 10 percent hike is expected in salary and pension.
The commission is also likely to increase the pension age of the employees by two years. However, the government is unlikely to consider this recommendation as the election is round the corner. The commission will submit the report to the Chief Minister at 3 pm on Friday.
Once the report is received, a cabinet subcommittee will be appointed to examine the same. However, there is no time for a detailed examination as the model code of conduct will come into force shortly. The government is likely to issue an order revising the pay within days after receiving the report.
