Kozhikode: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will likely take disciplinary action against its general secretary, Aryadan Shoukath, for staging a rally in solidarity with the people of Palestine in Malappuram on Friday.
In spite of the state leadership's stance, several Congress workers and others attended a rally hosted by the Aryadan Foundation in Malappuram on Friday evening.
Following this, the party sought an explanation from Shoukath. However, as per the latest report, KPCC is displeased with his explanation and has decided to make a decision based on the disciplinary committee's report.
Prior to the rally, KPCC leadership had served a notice on Shoukath, warning him against holding the rally. Malappuram District Congress Committee (DCC) also issued a warning to local leaders and party workers.
