Palakkad: Man who hacked his wife to death in Chittur in Palakkad has been taken into police custody. The accused Sajeesh was arrested from Kozhinjampara.
Urmila (32), who was heading for work was attacked by her husband around 6:50 AM on Tuesday. She was hacked while walking on the road. In a bid to escape, Urmila had moved to an adjacent field. However, her husband followed her and hacked her again on her neck, eventually killing her.
The couple was staying away from each other for the last one year owing to differences between them. Sajeesh had tried to attack Urmila in a similar manner three months ago by forcefully entering her house. The police back then had registered an attempt to murder case against Sajeesh.
