Munnar: Tourists who arrived at Mattupetty dam were taken aback by the view of elephant Padayappa and his family frolicking in the reservoir. Padayappa entered first and the tusker was followed by the calf and mother. Their bathing began at 3 pm and ended only after hours on Friday.
On hearing the news of this spectacular view, travellers who reached Mattupetty dam flocked the spot in boat to see the elephants nearby. They captured photos and videos of the elephants enjoying fun time in water.
With the increasing temperature and summer, the sights of elephants approaching water bodies and spending hours have become common in such eco-tourist spots.
