KGMOA announces protests in Palakkad, including OP service boycotts, against junior doctor suspensions following a child`s hand amputation.

Palakkad: Protesting the suspension of two junior doctors over an alleged treatment lapse that led to the amputation of a 9-year-old girl’s hand, the Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) has announced a series of protest actions in Palakkad district.
The association has threatened to boycott outpatient (OP) services at the Palakkad District Hospital on October 13, escalating to a district-wide OP boycott across all government hospitals on October 14 if the suspensions are not revoked.
The move comes in response to disciplinary action taken against the two doctors following public outrage over a reported medical lapse at the Government District Hospital.
As a first step, the KGMOA will observe ‘Black Day’ on Wednesday (October 9), with doctors wearing black badges and holding protest meetings in government hospitals across Palakkad.
Officials from the association said they will also boycott all official training programmes and government reporting duties, except for the pulse polio campaign, as part of their protest strategy.
