Kozhikode: The state recorded one more Covid death on Sunday taking the toll to 26. Muhammed, 82, who was under observation at Manjeri Medical College, died on Saturday and his test results that came out on Sunday morning showed he was Covid positive.
Muhammed Haji belonged to Chokode in Wandoor, Malappuram and was under treatment for cancer. 82-year old Muhammed and his wife reached the state from Saudi Arabia on June 29.
After he returned from Riyadh, he was suffering from pneumonia and was undergoing treatment at the Manjeri Hospital. However, his condition worsened due to his age and already existing diseases. The Manjeri Medical College has reported 4 deaths due to Covid so far.
His relatives were informed that the body will handed over only after COVID results are received. As he tested positive for COVID-19, the funeral will be held as per COVID protocols.
