Kochi: Prof. K K George, one of the renowned economists from Kerala, passed away at a private hospital here on Thursday. He was 82.
He was popular as a proponent of the Kerala model of development. He was the chairman of the Centre for Socio-economic and Environmental Studies in Kochi and former director of Cochin University School of Management Studies.
He did his PhD from CUSAT after completing studies at UC College and Madras Christian College.
His funeral will be held at his residence in Aluva on Friday. He is survived by wife Sherley, sons Justin, Jean and daughter Dr Ann.
