NIA forced me to turn pardoned-witness, says Alan Shuhaib
Kozhikode: Alan Shuhaib, the first accused in the Pantheerankavu Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) case alleged that the NIA had forced him to turn a pardoned-witness.
Speaking to the media here after receiving parole for three hours, Alan Shuhaib added that he would not become a pardoned-witness.
Alan Shuhaib said that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials forced him to turn a pardoned witness and that he was presented with such an offer.
Alan Shuhaib was granted parole for three hours to visit his grandmother’s younger sister, who is suffering from age related ailments. He was brought to his relative’s house here around 10.30 am under heavy police security. Alan was taken back to Viyyur Central Prison by 1.30 pm.
Police had arrested Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal on November 1, 2019 over alleged Maoist links. Later, the NIA took over the case.
