Thiruvananthapuram: Soon after businessman and philanthropist Boby Chemmanur purchased the disputed land in Neyyattinkara, the deceased couple’s children responded to him. Ranjith and Rahul, sons of deceased Rajan and Ambili, said that they are grateful to Boby Chemmanur for his compassionate act but it is the government that should give the land to them.

“We came to know that Boby Chemmanur purchased the land paying a price. We thank his kind heart. But we did not know anything about this. Vasantha who claims the land has no right over this property. It is the government that should give this land to us. Vasantha has no title deed as per RTI documents. Then how could she sell the land? She might have misled Boby Chemmanur. She may have fake documents with her,” Rahul and Ranjith said.

The boys also made it clear that the chief minister had offered to give the land to them and construct a house there. If Boby wants to give them any financial assistance, he should only give it for constructing the house. The land should be given by the government, they repeated.

The children also said that they do not know if the money offered by the government has been credited. They added that the amount offered by Youth Congress was already credited.
