Thiruvananthapuram: Another boat has capsized at Muthalapozhy. The accident occurred while the fishermen were returning from the sea. There were five people on board at the time, all of whom were rescued safely.
Strong currents at the estuary are believed to have caused the mishap. Two individuals who sustained injuries were admitted to a private hospital in Perumathura.
The injured have been identified as Nixon and Vineeth, both residents of Anchuthengu. The boat, named Infant Jesus, is owned by Ousepp, also a native of Anchuthengu.
This marks the sixth such accident reported in the area within a single week.
A similar incident occurred in July when a boat carrying 30 people overturned in Murinjapuzha, Vaikom.
