
Padyam: Padyam native Gopika Suresh won the title at the 22nd Miss Kerala held in Ernakulam. She is daughter of Pathayakunnu native Suresh and Sindhu.
She is a 23-year-old post-graduate student of Clinical Psychology in Bengaluru. The result of the pageant was announced on Thursday night. Ernakulam native Livya Liffy became the first runner-up and Thrissur native Gagana Gopal is the second runner-up. The judging panel included director Jeethu Joseph, Music director Deepak Dev, singer Anoop Shanker, Anisha Cheriyan, Sobha Viswanathan, actresses Iniya, Veena Nair and Deepa Thomas.
There were 25 contestants in the pageant. The final question posed to the contestants was who is responsible for the increase in drug use. Gopika gave the best reply to this question which helped her significantly in winning the title.
Gopika Suresh is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Her father is an engineer at IBM in Bengaluru. Her mother looks after a nursery school in Bengaluru. Hariharan Suresh is her brother.
