Thiruvananthapuram: Agriculture minister VS Sunil Kumar who had gone into self-quarantine, tested negative for COVID-19. At the same time, the medical board directed him to remain in quarantine for 14 days.
The minister had entered self-quarantine on Sunday after a health worker, he had contact with, tested positive for COVID-19. On Monday morning, the minister's samples were collected and sent for test.
The minister who is in charge of the COVID-19 preventive measures in Ernakulam district, had attended a meeting on June 15 in which the health worker who tested positive for the virus also attended. Following this, Thrissur medical board advised 18 people including the minister to observe quarantine.
At present, the minister and his PA are undergoing quarantine at the minister’s quarters in Thiruvananthapuram.
