New Delhi: The Indian Railways has decided to grant permission to run more intra-state train services from next week in some states including Kerala. However only Express trains are allowed.

Maveli, Malabar and Amrita Express will begin services in Kerala from next week. Maveli and Malabar services will terminate service at Kasaragod instead of Mangaluru. Amrita Express will begin service from Palakkad instead of Madurai. Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram Kannur Express and Parasuram Express will not conduct service soon.

The three train services are likely to ply on June 15. Only reservation tickets will be allowed, there will be no general coaches. The reservation bookings will begin on Saturday, an official announcement in this regard is awaited.

Three train services will begin services from June 15 in Tamil Nadu also.

At present two Jan Shatabdi Express and Venad Express (from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam) are conducting services in Kerala. Permission has been granted for Mangala, Netravati and Rajdhani Expresses to conduct services in Kerala recently.
