Train services between Mahe and Vadakara were thrown into disarray on Saturday morning after a platform construction tipper lorry overturned onto the railway tracks at Mukkali station.

Onchiam (Kerala): Train services were brought to a complete standstill after a tipper lorry overturned onto the railway tracks at Mukkali railway station, located between Mahe and Vadakara. Train traffic in both directions has been suspended.
The tipper lorry, which was brought in for construction work on the station platform, lost control and flipped onto the tracks around 7.30 am on Saturday.
Reports suggest the accident occurred after the driver suffered a sudden epileptic fit while at the wheel. A MEMU train passing along an adjacent track at the time was managed safely.
