Kottayam: The Mathrubhumi and K Chittilappilly Foundation (KCF) marked a critical milestone in their project to build homes for the state's homeless on Tuesday with the key handover ceremony of the 100th house.
Minister VN Vasavan handed over the key to the newly-built house at Vazhappally, Changanassery, to owner Prathibha S Nair, marking the 100th house built under the "Ente Veedu" (My House) project. The initiative started with the construction of a house for Wayanad native Shamsudheen and his family.
So far, the project has received 3,052 applications. Currently, the construction of 450 houses is ongoing. The initiative intends to construct 1,000 houses for the state's poor.
