Kochi: Following the mark list row, the governing council of Maharaja's college has decided to stop using NIC software designed by National Informatics Center, for generating mark lists of students. From now on the college will rely on KEL software, developed by Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering limited, for the purpose.
It was pointed out that there was no lapse from the side of the college in the much discussed ‘Arsho marklist’ controversy. Instead the college claimed that it was the technical issues in the NIC software that led to the controversy.
The incident pertaining to the controversy happened earlier this week, when SFI state secretary P M Arsho, an archaeology student at Maharaja's college, was declared ‘passed’ in an exam which he did not appear. An incorrect mark list indicating the same was published in the official website of the college raising eyebrows. However the college authorities hadn’t officially handed over the mark lists to the students.
