Kochi: The Crime Branch unit of Kerala Police, probing the complaint filed by SFI state secretary PM Arsho on the mark list row, has conducted a preliminary inspection at the office of the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
The officials examined whether there was a technical glitch in NIC's software or a conspiracy behind releasing a mark list informing that the SFI leader had passed a post-graduate examination, which he did not attend.
The college has employed three staff as data entry operators to feed marks into the system and share it with NIC, which handles all other matters related to the mark list through their software. Crime Branch has not ruled out the possibility of an error during data entry.
At the same time, the college authorities attribute the error in the mark list to NIC's software. To examine this, Crime Branch decided to collect information from NIC.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch also sought CCTV footage from Maharaja's College.
