Kannur: The visuals of a wedding held in Kannur have gone viral on social media. The couple were first seen bowing before the deity in a temple, then tying the knot in a traditional Hindu style wedding. Later, there was a ‘Mapillapaatu’ performance by the panchayat president and other ward members. 

Anjana, daughter of Valapattanam grama panchayat member and former president, V.K Manoj and Kozhikode Mankavu native Harinath got married. Anjana is a software engineer at Infosys, Bangalore while Harinath is a bank officer in Mumbai. The video of their wedding is being circulated on social media for being an example of social harmony. 

The visuals show panchayat president P.P Shamila, vice president VKC Jamsheera, standing committee chairman sameera, ward members Maimunath, Khadija and Radhika sitting with the bride and groom singing a Mapillapaatu. The locals and relatives joined in the song.
