
Kannur, Kerala: In a heartwarming display of tradition and family bond, dance guru NV Krishnan, his daughter Sanghamitra, and granddaughter Vaiga took to the stage together at the Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Payyanur. The three generations performed a Bharatanatyam dance depicting the story of Lord Subrahmanya.
The Mallari (said to indicate the commencement of the particular worship in a temple), a traditional Bharatanatyam piece, was performed in front of a packed crowd. Around thirty disciples of NV Krishnan also performed variety of dances. These included Keralanadanam, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, and even Gujarati dances, showcasing the rich diversity of Indian classical dance forms.

Among the guests was Girija Warrier, mother of actress Manju Warrier, who had traveled from Thrissur to witness the special gathering of generations of NV Krishnan’s disciples.
