Mananthavady: Giving a major relief to the residents of Wayanad, the carcass of the man-eating tiger was found inside the Pilakavu forest by the Rapid Response Team (RRT) on Monday morning near Priyadarshini Estate. The Forest Minister's office has confirmed that this is the tiger that killed Wayanad native Radha on Friday and attacked Jayasurya (RRT member) on Sunday.

The curfew imposed in Pancharakolli following the man-eater tiger incident has been lifted after the animal was found dead.

There are deep injuries on the neck of the tiger. The carcass has been shifted to the base camp. Following an extensive search, the RRT found the animal's carcass at about 2:30 am in the morning. An autopsy will be conducted soon to find the cause of death of the tiger.

The RRT's search followed the tragic death of Radha, a member of the Adivasi community and the wife of temporary forest watcher Achappan. Radha was killed by the tiger attack while plucking coffee at Priyadarshini Estate in Wayanad’s Mananthavady village on Friday morning. The attack occurred around 8:30 am, and her body was discovered deep in the forest by forest officials during their routine patrol. Her head was found partially consumed, suggesting the involvement of a tiger.

 The tiger, responsible for the death of 47-year-old Radha, a local resident, had instilled widespread fear in the community.
