Mananthavady: A member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) was injured in an attack by a tiger in Wayanad. Jayasurya, one of the RRT members, was rushed to the hospital for treatment. He has suffered a minor injury on his right hand.
A 20-member team, along with 10 other teams of 8 members each, led by Dr. Arun Zachariah, entered the forest earlier today to track and hunt the tiger believed to be responsible for the death of Radha. The tiger, possibly the same one, was located in Tharattil near Pancharakolli, close to the area where Radha was killed.
During the operation, a member of the RRT was attacked, though it remains unclear if the same man-eating tiger was involved. Forest officials and other authorities are working to ensure the safety of the injured officer and continue their efforts to track down the tiger, which will be shot soon.
Minister O.R. Kelu clarified that if the tiger is found, legal action will be taken and if necessary, it will be shot. Efforts to locate the tiger are ongoing.
