
Thiruvananthapuram: A man was arrested for allegedly beating up a woman doctor at the General Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The arrested has been identified as Waseer, a native of Manacaud.
The incident took place around 2.30 pm on Saturday when Waseer attacked assistant surgeon Dr Shobha at the hospital. Reportedly, she sustained a fracture on her hand.
According to reports, Waseer arrived at the hospital to seek treatment for kidney stones. Dr Shobha advised him to get admitted at the hospital. He refused to do so and got into a heated argument with the doctor.
Following which, he attacked Shobha and thrashed her. She is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. The accused was produced before the court and remanded.
Meanwhile, Kerala Government Medical Officers' Association (KGMOA) condemned the attack and demanded immediate action against the assailant.
