Malayali medical student drowned in Russia days before her return after course completion

Pazhayannur (Thrissur): An Elanad native who was pursuing medicine in Russia drowned in a lake during an excursion. The relatives of the deceased were informed of the tragic incident when they were preparing to visit her. The deceased was reported as Femi Chandra (24), daughter of Puthanpurayil Chandran and Jayashri.

Febi was a student of Smolensk State Medical University in Russia. The incident happened when she had reportedly gone for an excursion with friends after completing her MBBS course from the university. However, the relatives informed that they had not received details of the death yet.

Febi’s family were all set to visit Russia on June 30 and return with her as she had finished the course. It was in June of 2021 that Femi visited her house in Thrissur for the last time.
