Palakkad: The Malabar Devaswom Board (MDB) plans to launch health insurance programme for employees similar to the MEDISEP scheme of the Kerala government. 

Malabar Devaswom Board President M.R. Murali said they plan to launch the scheme named 'MDB Care' on the occasion of Kerala Piravi Day on November 1. 

The temples and the Devaswom Board will pay 40 per cent of the total premium, with the remaining borne by the employees. Meanwhile, up to six people, including the employee, wife, children, and parents, can be part of the scheme.

The scheme offers insurance policies of Rs 2 lakh or Rs 3 lakh. Depending on the employee's age and the policy opted, the premium amount will be between Rs 5,000 and Rs 15,000.
