As visuals of the 64th State School Kalolsavam in Thrissur played on television, actor Lalu Alex said the memories transported him back to his own childhood and his first experiences on stage.

In a reflective social media post, the actor revisited the moment he first performed at a school Kalolsavam while studying in sixth grade at M.K.S. School, Piravom.

Lalu Alex recalled singing a song taught to him by his mother, who patiently rehearsed with him and instilled confidence by repeatedly telling him that he could sing. He described how, even today, hearing that song brings back the image of his mother, whom he remembers as standing on a stage higher than his own in his life.

He further shared memories from his time at St. George High School, where he played a lead role in a school drama during the Kalolsavam. The encouragement he received from teachers after the performance, he said, became a lasting source of confidence and motivation, shaping his journey as an artist.

Addressing students preparing for upcoming Kalolsavam competitions, Lalu Alex urged them to practise sincerely but not to focus solely on prizes. He emphasised that the true success of art lies in its ability to touch the human heart, not in rankings or awards. Acknowledging that not everyone would win or be recognised, he encouraged young participants not to lose confidence and to continue honing their skills.

Concluding his note, the actor expressed faith in the next generation of artists, encouraging them to perform with conviction, rise above fear and disappointment, and believe that the future belongs to them.
