Speaking about his outfit, Mohanlal said, “I wore Khadi in a way that would please everyone. I twirled my mustache a bit for the children. This is a very good outfit. I am a goodwill ambassador for handlooms, and this is an outfit I like. The minister suggested I come dressed like this.”
Mohanlal was welcomed onto the stage with red roses and a memento shaped like a Nettipattam, adding to the festive atmosphere. Actress Riya Shibu, known for her role in Sarvam Maya, was the chief guest. She arrived on stage dressed as her character from the film, receiving a warm reception from the audience.
Meanwhile, the competition itself concluded with a nail-biting finish. Kannur emerged victorious, claiming the golden crown at the Kerala School Kalolsavam 2026 after an exhilarating contest. The title was secured in a photo finish, with Kannur edging past the reigning champions Thrissur by just five points. Thrissur, last year’s champions, settled for second place.
