Following the clock tower collapse at Kozhikode station, the 1.45 pm Jan Shatabdi Express will now depart from Kallai, with all other trains restricted to Platform 4.

Kozhikode: Following the collapse of the 150-year-old historic clock tower at the Kozhikode Railway Station on Thursday morning, major changes and disruptions have been announced for train services in the section.
The Kozhikode–Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi Express, which was scheduled to depart from Kozhikode at 1.45 pm, will now depart from the Kallai Railway Station instead.
Furthermore, due to the debris on the tracks and structural safety concerns, train operations at the Kozhikode Railway Station have been severely restricted. Trains will only be allowed to pass through Platform 4.
No trains will be handled through the affected platforms until clearance and safety checks are complete.
The accident occurred at around 11.10 am when the ageing clock tower came crashing down onto Platform 2 while the Kozhikode–Kannur passenger train was stationed there. A catastrophic tragedy was narrowly avoided as railway staff managed to run to safety, and no passengers were present near the site at the moment of the collapse.
