New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stayed the bail granted to Jolly, first accused in the sensational Koodathayi serial murder case. The Bench headed by Justice Mohan Santhana Gowder and Vineet Saran stayed the bail granted by Kerala high court.

The court issued a notice after accepting the petition of the state government. It also directed that if Jolly was released on bail, she should be taken into custody immediately.

The Kerala high court had granted bail to Jolly in the murder case of Annamma, mother of her ex-husband. The state government approached the supreme court against this.

The government pleaders argued that the key witnesses in Koodathayi serial murder are close relatives of Jolly and that her bail should be stayed to prevent her from influencing them.

Senior lawyer R Basant, special public prosecutor N K Unnikrishnan and standing counsel Nishe Rajan Shonker appeared for the state government.
