Mass layoffs in Kerala’s IT sector have left 120 workers seeking support, with Progressive Techies helping them find new employment opportunities.

Kochi: Following mass layoffs in the IT sector, 120 people in Kerala have sought assistance in finding new jobs. Progressive Techies, an association of IT employees, offered support to those affected, receiving 120 applications within a month.
Applicants submitted their biodata along with requests for help in securing new employment. Progressive Techies state president Aneesh Panthalani said the association has been contacting various companies to help place them in suitable roles.
Employee organisations have criticised the layoffs, noting that many were carried out without notice and that affected workers have not received compensation or support to find alternative employment.
The situation has placed considerable pressure on IT employees. Organisations have filed complaints with the Chief Minister and the Union Labour Minister, seeking immediate intervention.
