Former minister and MLA K.K. Shailaja has expressed her support for actress Meenakshi Anoop following the widespread discussion generated by the young actor’s remarks on secularism.

Meenakshi’s Facebook post on secularim triggered significant debate on social media. In response, Shailaja took to Facebook to laud Meenakshi’s perspective.

“It is a relief and a matter of pride to see that the new generation understands the greatness of humanity. Congratulations to Meenakshikutty,” Shailaja wrote.

In her original post, Meenakshi reflected on the broader meaning of secularism:

“Secularism is beyond religious walls. Question: Is secularism, in its truest sense, possible in our country? This is a topic with very deep meaning. Within the limits of my knowledge, an answer in a few sentences: ‘If each person can ensure that they won’t be provoked by religious fanaticism, then ‘secularism’ will be implemented on its own. That is my ‘belief’.”
