Kattikulam:A king cobra was found inside the bonnet of a car in Kattikulam, Wayanad. The incident took place at the house of Kattikulam native Pushpajan on Friday.

The snake, spotted inside the car, was caught after hours of relentless efforts by Sujith, the forest department’s snake catcher. Later, the cobra was released into the forest safely.

The family initially thought it to be a rat snake, but later realised it was a king cobra. Following which, the family members and neighbours began to panic and informed Sujith.

“Normally, I won’t be able to catch snakes that get inside cars. However, this time, the snake was big in size and that’s why I could catch it,” said Sujith.

“If a snake enters a vehicle, then park it in an abandoned area. The snake will get off on its own,” he added.
