Maloor (Kannur): A venomous cobra that entered the bedroom of a house was captured and released back into the wild. The incident took place at the residence of Ali, located in Muzhakkunnu.
The family members spotted the cobra slithering through the room and immediately raised an alarm. Following this, Faisal Vilakkode, a volunteer with the ‘MARC’ (Malabar Awareness and Rescue Centre for Wildlife) snake rescue group, was informed without delay. Faisal reached the spot immediately, captured the snake safely, and later released it into a nearby forest area.
The incident occurred around 3 PM on Tuesday. Faisal had also rescued a large python from a bathroom of a house in Palappuzha, Kakkayangad the other day.
In the past three days alone, Faisal has rescued over 20 snakes from different locations. According to available records, over the last three years, he has captured and relocated 87 king cobras and more than 3,200 other venomous snakes.
