A low-pressure system is expected to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal today, which may intensify rainfall across the state. The IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along the Kerala–Karnataka–Lakshadweep coasts until October 24. Those already at sea in the south Bay of Bengal and nearby regions have been urged to return to shore immediately.
