Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Vigilance Department has prepared a list of corrupt government officials, reportedly including around 200 personnel. Officials from all districts are on the list, which was compiled by various Vigilance units. Those listed are currently under surveillance.
It is learned that five out of the eight government officials arrested last month were already on the watchlist. Names are added or removed from the list based on surveillance findings, following the directive of Vigilance Director Yogesh Gupta. The analysis is being carried out under the leadership of a DIG.
No officials from the capital district have been caught in bribery cases over the past year. However, two officials were recently caught red-handed while accepting bribes, based on their inclusion in the surveillance list.
The Vigilance Director has also instructed public prosecutors to ensure that corruption cases are not delayed.
