Kochi: Chartered Accountant Ranjith Warrier, along with agents known as Wilson and Mukesh—who were arrested in connection with allegations that Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials accepted bribes to manipulate cases—appeared at the Vigilance Office in Kochi for questioning. The accused complied with a court directive by attending the session.

The Vigilance Court in Muvattupuzha had granted them bail the other day, on condition that they report to the Vigilance Office for five consecutive days without fail. In accordance with this condition, they arrived at the Vigilance Office on Friday morning.

The forensic results of materials sent for examination in connection with the case have not yet been received, though they are expected soon.

Shekhar Kumar, the Additional Director of the ED, is the first accused in the case. He has not been arrested so far and has approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail.

The Vigilance Department had requested the ED to provide the case file related to the complaint in order to obtain further details. However, ED officials have yet to hand over the file. It is expected to be received either today or tomorrow.

“All the facts will come out soon,” said S. Sasidharan, Superintendent of Police, Vigilance Ernakulam Range. A notice has already been issued to the ED directing them to submit the relevant file. Preliminary investigations have found substance in the allegations, and efforts are ongoing to uncover further details, the SP added.
