Kozhikode: Police have arrested seven foreigners, including three Nigerian nationals, in a case involving the smuggling of synthetic drugs into Kerala. The Kozhikode Town Police took all seven into custody from Gurugram, Haryana. Drugs worth ₹1 crore were also seized from them.
The investigation led to the Nigerian nationals in Haryana following the arrest of a Malappuram native in possession of 778 grams of MDMA. After receiving information about the foreigners from the Malappuram native, the police team set a trap for them.
Police said the arrested individuals were manufacturing synthetic drugs in Gurugram and selling them through the dark web. They had smuggled drugs to various parts of the country. The accused were brought to Kozhikode, produced before the court, and remanded.
