The Kerala Police Cyber Cell has recovered 34,000 lost mobile phones and has begun sending mass messages to their rightful owners.
According to the message, the lost mobile phone has been traced based on the complaint registered on the CEIR portal. The notification, sent on behalf of the Cyber Operations Division of the Kerala Police, instructs recipients to contact either the police station where the complaint was originally lodged or the nearest police station to reclaim their device.
Mathrubhumi News has confirmed that the message is genuine and was officially issued by the Kerala Police. The notifications began being dispatched today following instructions from the Cyber Wing Superintendent of Police.
In recent months, numerous complaints regarding lost phones had remained unresolved at various police stations across Kerala. To address the backlog, the Cyber Police conducted a special recovery drive over the past few days, leading to the retrieval of thousands of devices. The recovered phones have now been linked to their respective complainants, who have been informed accordingly.

Of the 34,000 phones recovered, around 12,000 belong to people within Kerala. Notably, 1,200 phones were recovered in connection with 2,000 complaints registered at Pamba Police Station, with many of the owners reported to be from outside the state.
Authorities have stated that efforts are ongoing to ensure all recovered phones are returned to their rightful owners.
