Speaking at a public education seminar held as part of the LDF government’s ‘Vision-2031’ initiative, the minister said that steps to lessen the weight of school bags are under consideration.
He also revealed that by 2031, a system will be in place to ensure that all school children receive training in at least one sport.
The event saw the participation of MLA Antony Raju, Public Education Secretary K. Vasuki, Director Umesh NSK, Planning Board Member Prof. Mini Sukumar, and SCERT Director Dr. K Jayaprakash.
What did the Chief Minister say about Kerala’s education journey?
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who inaugurated the seminar, urged teachers not to forget how much the educational sector has changed in the state.
“We should think about the past to understand how things have changed now… Public education was one of the sectors the LDF government prioritised when it came to power in 2016,” Vijayan said.
