Supplyco achieved record-breaking Onam sales with a ₹319.3 crore turnover. Coconut oil prices were reduced, discounts offered on essentials, and 6.14 lakh Onam kits distributed, Minister GR Anil said.

Thiruvananthapuram: Supplyco recorded its highest-ever sales during the Onam season, with a turnover of ₹319.3 crore as of Monday, Minister GR Anil announced at a press conference.
The minister said Supplyco’s timely intervention helped curb the rise in coconut oil prices. Kera coconut oil, which earlier cost ₹457 per litre, was supplied in line with demand, with prices reduced to ₹429 from August 25.
The price of Supplyco’s subsidised Sabari coconut oil was cut from ₹349 to ₹339 per litre, while the non-subsidised variant dropped from ₹429 to ₹389. Further reductions are expected. The one-litre-per-bill restriction on Kera coconut oil has also been lifted.
According to official figures, 48.15 lakh customers visited Supplyco outlets till Monday. Discounts and special offers were provided on more than 250 branded essential items, while the Onam Gift Scheme drew strong participation.
This year, 6.14 lakh Onam kits will be distributed to yellow card holders and residents of welfare institutions. Families associated with the Chengara protest will also receive kits. Of these, 4.05 lakh kits had already been distributed by Sunday, the minister added.
