Kochi: The mortal remains of the late actor Rizabawa was laid to rest at Chembittapally Juma Masjid in Kochangadi here on Tuesday. The funeral ceremony was performed with all official honours. Ernakulam District Collector also paid his last respects. 

Rizabawa breathed his last at a private hospital in Kochi following a kidney ailment. After the post-mortem, it was revealed that Rizabawa was infected with Covid. Hence, the public was barred from attending the funeral.

Rizabawa was noted for the antagonist and character roles he played in more than 100 films. Even though his first film was 'Vishupakshi', it was never released. Later, Rizbawa made his acting debut in the 1990 film 'Doctor Pashupathi' as hero of Parvathy. He is most remembered for the role of John Honai in the movie ‘In Harihar Nagar’ by Siddique-Lal.
