Mohanan in Vettilakkoli Paniyar tribal colony of Panthirayiram forest region

Nilambur: Mohanan in Vettilakkoli Paniyar tribal colony of Pantheerayiram forest region was confronted twice by the elephant herd when he was on his way to appear for Kerala SSLC examinations at a school in Eranjimangad. He had no other choice than skipping the exam. But he used the Save A Year (SAY) option to pass the two exams he missed. When the SAY examination results were announced, Mohanan cleared all the exams and became the first person in the tribal colony to pass 10th grade.

It is a prestigious moment for the residents of his colony and his teachers. They are excited about Mohanan’s achievement. Support and efforts of his class teacher Shilaja and principal Sony of Government Higher Secondary School, where Mohanan studies played a major role in his achievement.

As his parents passed away way too early, he was brought up by his mother’s sister Mathi and her husband Chandhan.

KT Kalyani, a teacher in Palakayyam study centre took a keen interest to enroll Mohanan for school. He completed his eighth grade by boarding in a scheduled tribe hostel in Palemadu. After that, he joined Eranjimangad Government Higher Secondary School. He wishes to do higher studies in the same school itself.
