Perumpilav: Kerala Government officials who delay file processing will now be subject to negative scores, thanks to new software being developed by the Information Kerala Mission (IKM). The system, named KSuite, aims to streamline file movement and enhance accountability using Application Programming Interfaces (API) to track delays.
Under this initiative, if a file is not processed within the stipulated timeframe, it will automatically be escalated back to its point of origin. This will result in the responsible official receiving a negative score. A predefined deadline can also be set for the settlement of each file, ensuring adherence to timelines.
The negative score received by an official will be factored into their annual performance report, directly affecting their prospects for promotion and salary increments. This mechanism is expected to improve efficiency in file processing across departments.
Unlike the current eOffice system, which only facilitates file movement, KSuite offers additional functionalities such as finance management, human resource management system (HRMS), and meeting coordination. This comprehensive software solution is designed to replace eOffice in government offices for better workflow integration.
Currently, KSuite is undergoing testing. The initial phase of implementation will take place within Information Kerala Mission, with expansion to other departments requiring government approval. According to IKM Executive Director Dr. Santhosh Babu, the auto-escalation feature is expected to roll out in April. The software was developed by a team led by Deputy Director Dr. K P Noufal and Controller of Administration Timple Magi P S.
