Kerala launches Auticare Blue Room to support children with disabilities through VR training.

Thiruvananthapuram: V Sivankutty, General Education Minister of Kerala, announced the launch of a major initiative aimed at providing specialised training and skill development for children with disabilities at the State Institute for the Mentally Challenged (SIMC).
The new facility, named ‘Auticare Blue Room’, has been set up at SIMC to enhance learning support and therapy for children requiring special care, the minister said in a Facebook post.
According to Sivankutty, the initiative introduces advanced virtual reality-based training that allows children to experience a three-dimensional learning environment in a safe and controlled setting.
VR-based training for children with disabilities
The Auticare Blue Room at SIMC integrates sensory-based learning methods by combining vision, hearing and touch to support the development of children with disabilities.
“This training method, which combines visual, auditory and tactile experiences, will significantly boost the confidence of children and help them become more self-reliant,” Sivankutty said.
